HNSciCloud @ the World LHC Computing Grid deployment board

On the 12th of July, Bob Jones, CERN & HNSciCloud Coordinator gave an update on the status of the HNSciCloud Pre-Commercial Procurement at the World LHC Computing Grid deployment board workshop, at CERN, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The PCP, now in its Solution Prototyping phase, is progressing well and the winning contractors are now building their prototypes. All the details are available in Bob's presentation. View the presentation here. Download the presentation.

The scope of the event was to determine how the operation of the existing LHC computing grid can evolve in the future and representatives of the computer centres that contribute resources to the LHC computing grid attended the workshop. The workshop was also the right occasion to present the Draft of the Early Adopter Group document. Who are the Early Adopters?

The Early Adopters are research organisations that have expressed an interest in becoming procurers of the cloud services  developed  via  the  HNSciCloud  project.  The benefits for the stakeholders, the conditions under which this procurement could be undertaken and a set of key steps for its implementation were presented in the workshop.
