HNSciCloud was represented at the HEPiX Workshop on October 21st, 2016, in Berkeley, California, USA. The HEPiX forum attracts worldwide Information Technology staff, including system administrators, system engineers, and managers from High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics laboratories and institutes, with the aim of encouraging a learning and sharing experience between sites facing scientific computing and data challenges.

On October 13th, 2016, HNSciCloud was represented by Bob Jones of CERN at the EIROforum IT Working Group in Frascati, Italy.

The EIROforum IT Working Group coordinates and contributes to the initiation and development of IT projects within and across the EIROforum member organisations. It also contributes to the pan-EU development of IT via the formulation of the EIROforum position on research-related IT.

The science and research sector is this year in the spotlight of the European Commission strategy in order to enable a fast uptake of the European Digital Single Market across Europe. The science and research sector is bound to build the "model cloud" for the European public and private sector and is expected to open up the era of big data applications in Europe by offering reusable science data over time for the use of the industry and public sector.

Europe's leading e-infrastructures invited all researchers, developers and service providers for three days of brainstorming and discussions at the Digital Infrastructures for Research event (28-30 September 2016). HNSciCloud was represented at the session on Procuring cloud services for the public research sector on September 28th, chaired by David Foster.
